FEATURED IN:
UNSHACKLED. UNLOCKED. UNDERSTOOD. UNASHAMED.
This is for the Extraordinary Parents of Incredible Children with ADHD, autism, anxiety, big emotions, impulsive behaviour, sleep battles, school struggles, or the “I'm not sure what's going on but we need help” challenges.
Whether your child already has a diagnosis, you are waiting for an assessment, or you simply know your family cannot keep going like this…
...EPIC Families Online helps you understand and unlock what is really happening underneath the behaviour. Plus, it gives you practical tools to start creating calmer, more connected days at home.
Crafted For YOUR Family
When it feels like you've tried everything...but still got nothing? Welcome to neurodiverse parenting.
We've been there. That's why - as neurodiverse parents of neurodivergent kids - we knew something had to change.
You've probably been juggling the questions from teachers, the GPs, the well-meaning-but-condescending family member or friend and the judgemental stranger in the supermarket...
Then there's the information overload from the websites, Facebook groups, podcasts, WhatsApp chats, brochures, YouTube videos and the 'expert' book that you bought but never finished...
And that's before we even start on the guilt, the shame, and the unshakeable sense that you're 'getting parenting wrong'.
Yet STILL...when the next meltdown happens, or the next call from school arrives, or the next bedtime showdown occurs, you're still asking: "Now what the hell do I do?!"
This is when it's time to discover that you're not a broken family, you're an EPIC family.
Lost in Parenting Wilderness? Here's The Map
You'll soon learn this about us: We say it like it is. We get real honest with you, real fast. No 'perfect family' BS.
After assessing, diagnosing, treating and supporting thousands of families through our Bay Paediatrics clinic, one thing is certain:
Nobody arrives here because life is just peachy.
No parent says, "Wow, family life is SO good right now...wouldn't be fun to explore ADHD and autism!"
Maybe school has become the flashpoint. The teacher email. The meeting. The parent conference.
“We’re having trouble with him in class.”
“She’s bright, but she’s not coping.”
“He needs to learn to control himself.”
“We think you should look into ADHD or autism.”
Maybe this afternoon ended the way so many afternoons end now: with a meltdown over something small. A sibling in tears. Shouting. Screaming. Throwing. And you standing in the kitchen wondering how the hell a favourite t-shirt that wasn't washed, or a lost iPad, or toast cut into squares not triangles resulted in World War Three.
Maybe the system has you in a holding pattern that feels like forever. Overlooked and overwhelmed for so long that you forget what 'normal' ever felt like. Your unique family has been sandpapered down to a name on a waiting list. We know that sensation of rage that goes through your veins when you're in crisis but a healthcare official tells you: "Sorry, your crisis isn't bad enough".
And probably, someone already told you to "just be more consistent," as though consistency were the one thing you hadn't thought of, across all the books, the charts, the timers, the appointments and the late-night searching. That's about as helpful as telling a diabetic to be "a little more consistent at producing insulin".
So you try to stay calm. And regulate. And breathe. And remember the '10 step meltdown mindfulness strategy' that some so-called expert told you about.
But by the third argument, the fifth refusal, the tenth “just put your shoes on”, the 937th "why are we ALWAYS late for EVERYTHING"...
...You can feel yourself becoming a version of yourself you hate.
Snapping.
Begging.
Threatening consequences you know you won't follow through on
Giving in because you are too tired to survive another fight.
Giving up because "it's just quicker and easier if I do it myself"
Lying in bed later replaying it all and wondering, “What am I doing wrong?”
Medical-Grade Guidance For Parents...Without the Jargon, Judgement or “Perfect Parenting” nonsense.
EPIC Families online is a 10-module, self-paced, online learning programme that gives you the insights and practical tools to create Extraordinary Parents & Incredible Children.
Built by Bay Paediatrics — New Zealand's leading child neurodevelopmental clinic and the home of the Neurodiversity Centre of Excellence — alongside developmental paediatricians, child psychiatrists, psychologists, and parents of neurodivergent kids who have had too many days where it feels like nothing will work.
This is not a 'training programme'. It is not a 'parenting course'. This is not a generic photocopy of a photocopy of everything you've already heard. EPIC Families is where the real child neurodevelopmental experts share their knowledge, insights, tools and lessons outside the consultation room.
For the first time, we're taking 50+ combined years of medical expertise, plus the world-class, clinically proven tools used by the Bay Paediatrics team in their award-winning ADHD and autism assessments and neurodiverse therapy support... and we're giving you the opportunity to use them in your home, with your child, every day.
What Parents Are Saying...
“We'd been on some other courses because we were hoping for some incredible years with our child. They were too long, too boring, too generic. But THIS WAS EPIC!! Home and school is such a nicer place now. Absolute gamechanger. Thank you!!”
Vicki
(Parent to 9-year-old)
“Thank you so much for everything you do. I love EPIC Families... honestly it was like you were inside my mind. It was so refreshing to hear the doctors talk so honestly about what my child was going through. The tools were amazing too."
Alex
(Parent to 12-year-old)
The Tools To Become an EPIC Family
Extraordinary Parents with Incredible Children...it's time to start your EPIC family journey today!
Start the EPIC JourneyREAL Parenting Tools For REAL Life
Most parents don't realise that the other courses, programmes, training, tools and guidance simply aren't designed for their unique family.
If you have tried other courses and felt that nothing really changed, you weren't being difficult. You weren't getting it wrong. In fact, your instincts were absolutely, 100% right.
Most parenting 'advice' assumes FOUR THINGS that are simply NOT TRUE for neurodiverse families.
MISTAKE 1: It assumes your child can pause, reflect and choose their emotions in the moment. But when a child's nervous system is overloaded, those skills go offline. The behaviour you are seeing is not a decision being made badly; it is a brain that cannot reach the skill being asked of it.
This means all the other experts are trying to 'teach' you to get your child to swim against the current of their beautifully unique minds...instead of working with it.
MISTAKE 2: It assumes behaviour is mainly a motivation problem. So the answer becomes more rewards, firmer consequences, better charts, nicer stickers. But when a child is anxious, sensory-overloaded, sleep-deprived or exhausted from masking all day, the behaviour is the visible tip of a much larger iceberg.
You can ban the devices, promise the trip to Macca's, hide the TV remote or craft a reward chart so amazing it could be hung in the Louvre...but the iceberg remains.
MISTAKE 3: It assumes the parent has unlimited executive function. Just make the chart, keep calm, track everything, follow the strategy every single time. But many, many parents of neurodiverse children are neurodivergent themselves.
Yet they assume you're going to read 300 pages, complete 30 modules, attend a 16-week programme, absorb the 27-step meltdown strategy, complete 143 questions on the form, listen, take notes, remember, absorb... HA! They've clearly never been inside the mind of a neurospicy parent.
MISTAKE 4: It assumes your home is calm enough for ideal parenting. Ah, the perfect parenting experts with the perfect smiles, and perfect lives, and perfect teeth and perfect patience. These courses are designed for The Waltons, but your family feels more like The Simpsons.
So these experts are trying to 'train' you. But it's not working because your brain is full of the work deadline, the washing, the dinner, the argument, the school phone call, the bitchy WhatsApp message, the mortgage, the marriage, the money...all at once.
This is the heart of why EPIC Families Online works differently. It does not hand you scripts written for an imaginary calm family. It helps you read the iceberg — to see the anxiety, the overwhelm, the sensory load or the executive-function gap sitting underneath the behaviour — so that you can respond to the actual cause instead of fighting the symptom. Once you can see the pattern, you stop reacting blindly and start parenting deliberately. That shift is the whole point.
Unique Minds (and unique parents) Need Unique Tools
We've heard it all before, and we'd tried it all before:
Visual schedules. Reward charts. Consequences.
Timers. Sticker charts. Gentle parenting scripts.
Being firmer. Being softer. Being calmer. Being stricter.
Being more consistent. Taking away screens. Giving more warnings.
Reading the books. Following the Instagram accounts. Listening to the podcasts. Listening to the judgmental family member. Phoning the friend. Asking ChatGPT what to do at 11:47pm because you're too exhausted to search anymore.
And sometimes, something 'sort-of' works.
Then real life happens.
Someone sleeps badly. School goes sideways. A sibling gets involved. You are late for work. Your child refuses to move. Your own brain is overloaded. The house is chaos again.
And suddenly that “simple parenting strategy” you learned a while back feels like it was designed for a family that does not exist.
A calm family.
A perfect family.
A neurotypical family.
A family with endless patience, perfect routines, no financial pressure, no school stress, no siblings in the background, no parent with ADHD, and no history of being judged every time their child has a hard moment in public.
That is not your family.
And that is exactly why EPIC Families Online exists.
This Is Not Another Generic Parenting Course.
EPIC Families Online was created for real neurodiverse families.
The kind where mornings can feel like a war zone.
The kind where bedtime starts at 7pm and somehow everyone is still awake at 10:13pm.
The kind where your child can be bright, funny and capable one moment, then completely unreachable the next.
The kind where school says, “They’re fine here,” while you are dealing with the after-school crash at home.
The kind where the 'bad cop' parent thinks there needs to be firmer boundaries, the 'good cop' parent says, "kids should be kids", and everyone ends up feeling blamed.
The kind where siblings are affected too...even when nobody means for that to happen.
The kind where, quite frankly, it feels hard enough keeping your own sh*t together before you even think about helping your child (and, yep, that makes us feel really guilty too)
The kind where you are not looking for a lecture.
You are looking for something that just actually helps.
That's Why We Set Our Paediatricians and Child Psychiatrists a Challenge...
One weekend, when the Bay Paediatrics clinic was closed, we asked them to review all the common and most-used tools, guides and resources that parents like you are directed to.
Then, we threw them all in the bin.
Then, we took out a flipchart, picked up a marker pen, and asked these leading ADHD and autism doctors one simple question:
"If you had to create a course to use for YOUR OWN neurodiverse kids - what would it be?"
And the result was this: EPIC Families Online.
Everyone at Bay Paediatrics has had a journey with our ADHD and autistic kids. That's why we set the highest standards: If we wouldn't use it with our own kids, then it's not good enough to share with any of our patients.
Introducing: EPIC Families Online
A self-paced course that helps you understand what is actually happening underneath your child's behaviour, and gives you practical, medically-proven tools to start creating calmer, more connected days at home.
Guiding you through your EPIC Families journey are two of New Zealand's leading child clinicians. You are learning from the best: The experts who have worked with thousands of neurodiverse families.
This is your team now: The doctors who assess, diagnose ADHD and autism, prescribe medication, treat and support neurodiverse families every single day at Bay Paediatrics, New Zealand's award-winning child neurodiversity clinic.
Meet Your EPIC Experts:
Dr Sarah Moll
Developmental Paediatrician (MBChB, MRes, MRCPCH)
Sarah is one of the few New Zealand doctors who is dual-trained in general Paediatrics and Community Child Health and is accredited by both the RCPCH (Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health UK) and the RACP (Royal Australasian College of Paediatrics).
Sarah was also the only paediatrician in New Zealand who was invited to present her groundbreaking work to the 2025 ADHD World Congress in Prague.
She has first-hand experience of ADHD in her household and fully understands what it feels like to juggle the demands of neurodiversity with a chaotic family life.
Dr Lois Evans
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
(MBBS, MA(cantab), FRANZCP, Cert Child and Adol Psych)
Lois trained at Cambridge University and King’s College London between 2001 - 2007.
In 2013, she moved to New Zealand and completed further specialist training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), specialising in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Lois has first-hand experience of neurodiversity in the home, including Autism, ADHD and specific learning disorders. This has shaped her clinical work and fuels her passion for helping families better understand one another, strengthen communication, and navigate home life while still finding moments of connection and joy
Freddie Bennett
Managing Director of Bay Paediatrics, Guinness World Record holder...and 'A boy with ADHD who has a boy with ADHD'.
Freddie co-founded Bay Paediatrics because he’s on a mission to give families strength in neurodiversity.
As a neurodivergent dad in a neurodiverse family, Freddie knows exactly what the struggle feels like.
Before his ADHD diagnosis, Freddie was ‘chronically overwhelmed’, depressed and unfit. After his diagnosis, he went on to cross the Sahara Desert on foot, run 300km across the frozen Arctic towards the North Pole…and he’s a Guinness World Record holder.
Freddie's role in EPIC Families Online is to give YOUR perspective. He's in your corner, demanding answers to the questions running through the mind of every parent with a neurodivergent child.

The Tools To Become an EPIC Family
Extraordinary Parents with Incredible Children...it's time to start your EPIC family journey today!
Start the EPIC JourneyReady to STOP the Doubts, Questions, Fears, Meltdowns and Tears?
Does any of this sound familiar?
- Your child has been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, AuDHD, anxiety, sensory or learning differences OR your gut has been telling you something deeper is going on, and nobody has confirmed it yet.
- You're on a waiting list, and you don't want to lose more months and years feeling helpless while your child struggles.
- Your child holds it together all day at school, then walks through the front door and falls apart...and you're the only one who sees the meltdown erupt.
- The classroom has become the flashpoint: the meetings, the calls, the reports, the sense that your child is bright but not coping, and the quiet fear that they're being labelled.
- You're walking on eggshells, just waiting for the next bedtime drama, mealtime meltdown or sibling showdown.
- You're sick and bloody tired of being the one who does all the shouting, device-banning, bedtime-reminding, rule-setting, lunch-making, laundry-washing, taxi-driving, money-dispensing...and yet STILL seen as the 'bad cop' of the house
- You've tried the obvious advice: reward charts, consequences, gentle-parenting scripts, taking screens away...and watched each one work for two days before real life chaos returned.
- You want practical tools that respect who your child is, not another programme that treats their neurodivergence as a behaviour problem to be drilled out of them...or treats YOU like the child.
- You want to be a happy family and a calmer, more confident parent: The parent you were before you became everything to everyone else.
If any of the above sounded like your family, then let's start your EPIC Family journey today.
Finally. Bespoke & Medically-Proven Strategies for YOUR Unique Family
What if you tried to eat a bowl of soup with a fork?
Or cut the lawn with your nail scissors?
Or send an email with a typewriter?
It would be frustrating. Difficult. Time-consuming. The task would feel impossible.
But would you blame yourself? Would you mentally beat yourself up for 'doing it wrong'?
Would you lie awake at night thinking: "Maybe I just wasn't cut out to be good at eating soup, cutting lawns and sending emails"?
OR would you just consider that it wasn't your fault...you'd just never been given the right tools for the job.
Same applies to parenting neurodivergent kids.
The problem isn't YOU. And the problem definitely isn't your child.
You've just never been given the right tools before: The REAL tools. The tools that only paediatricians and child psychiatrists use in their clinics, every single day.
Until now...
Explore What's Inside
EPIC Families Online gives you ten video modules and over twenty practical exercises. Every module is built in three layers: Video, Companion Guide, and Practical Workbook.
We do this because information alone changes nothing (and you're probably at information overload already). That's why we focus on insight, understanding and application.
1. An Honest, Expert Discussion.
Imagine being invited into an exclusive discussion between a developmental paediatrician and a child & adolescent psychiatrist who know exactly what you're going through, and have 50 years' combined experience helping families exactly like yours
A real, no-holds-barred conversation between Dr Sarah Moll and Dr Lois Evans, sharing the clinical insight and the honest lived experience behind each topic.
No long lectures, no jargon: Just the professional expertise and personal lived experience from two people who are not only internationally renowned ADHD & Autism doctors...but who are also mums of neurodiverse kids.
2. A Plain-English Companion Guide
If the expert videos open your eyes to a whole new world of understanding what's really happening for your child, then the Companion Guides will open your mind.
Each module has its own Companion Guide, which is an easy-to-understand deep-dive into each topic.
The Companion Guides will give you new insights and thought-provoking reframes for what's been happening for your family.
Think of these as your 'book of spells' that you can return to again and again whenever you need to conjure a parenting solution out of thin air.
3. Practical Workbook
Any child will tell you: Watching is good, reading is helpful...but the best kind of learning comes from doing.
That's where our practical workbooks come in. Every module has a collection of simple, insightful exercises that turn the insight into a plan for your specific child, your home and your family's patterns.
You're getting over 20 distinct and powerful exercises: Medically-informed, clinically-proven, parent-tested and child-approved.
BONUS: The EPIC Talks Vault
You also get exclusive access to the EPIC Talks video library from the last two EPIC Families events, New Zealand's largest gatherings for neurodiverse families.
Each talk runs around twenty minutes, in a TED-style format you can watch while folding washing or sitting in the car before pick-up.
The expert speakers cover the questions parents ask again and again: big emotions, learning, anxiety, sleep, self-care, screens, mindset, school, nutrition, confidence and building connection with your child.
This is the only place in the world you can watch the EPIC Talks and experience New Zealand's historic neurodiversity events for yourself.

"Not ANOTHER parenting course"...
You're absolutely right. This is NOT another parenting course.
This is something that's never been released to the public before.
When every other course, book, podcast, reel or so-called 'piece of advice' has been abandoned, forgotten or discarded for being absolutely useless at making your life any better...
...Here's why EPIC Families is the ONLY programme that gets neurodiverse families unstuck, unbroken, unshackled and unleashed:
1. The REAL Experts in Your Corner
You are learning from a Developmental Paediatrician and a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist: Two of New Zealand's leading child neurodevelopmental doctors.
Not a psychologist, an 'ADHD Coach', a child counsellor, a therapist or an influencer with 100k followers and a slick sales pitch who mutters something about 'lived experience'.
You get specialist insight from the doctors who assess and diagnose ADHD and autism, prescribe medication for ADHD, anxiety & more. These are the experts who've advised families like yours every single day for the past 20 years.
2. It's practical.
This is not a lecture series you passively watch and actively forget every single thing that was said.
It's not a book that gathers dust in your bedroom.
It's not the 'gamechanging' insight on Instagram that you screenshot and forget.
Each module includes:
- A brutally honest discussion where Dr Moll and Dr Evans share their solutions to your parenting challenges...and the hard lessons they learned along the way.
- A plain-English companion guide.
- A workbook with practical challenges.
- Tools you can apply at home.
- Exercises designed to help you turn insight into action.
3. It's honest.
No pretending this is easy. No shame. No blame. No judgement.
Every doctor and expert you'll see in EPIC Families online has a neurodiverse family.
They've been through the assessment and diagnosis process for their own kids.
They've had the sleepless nights, the doubts, the shame, the school phone calls and the judgemental looks in the supermarket.
No parent at Bay Paediatrics is perfect. So there's no damn way we'll be sharing any glossy “perfect parenting” nonsense.
No making you feel worse because your house does not look like a therapy manual.
You will hear real conversations about what actually happens in neurodiverse families...including the messy, emotional, complicated parts.
4. It's neurodiversity-affirming.
This isn't a parenting course with 'something for the neurodiverse kids' stuck on the side. We've done all of them and felt utterly overlooked. Which is ironic, because we know that so many neurodiverse kids feel stuck: Standing on the outside of life.
But we believe this: If you're standing on the outside of life...that must mean you're simply outstanding.
The goal is never to “fix” your child.
The goal is to understand them, support them, reduce unnecessary distress, strengthen connection, and give your family better tools.
5. It's built for REAL families. EPIC Families
This is not a generic course full of systems, language and assumptions that do not fit your reality.
It's not pumped full of ChatGPT-generated, copy & pasted, play-it-safe, bland, generic, same-old stuff that you've tried and failed with time and time again.
It is created by real, imperfect, experts who understand the life, the chaos, the waiting lists, the school frustrations, the assessment pathways, and the pressure families are under.
6. Maybe you're a parent on the neurospicy side of life? GOOD.
Every video, guide, task and exercise is built to be completed in 15 minutes or less.
Because WE are parents with ADHD and autism. So we know that YOU are likely to have a sprinkle of ADHD or a touch of the 'tism in your own brain.
It doesn't matter whether you're in the 'ADHD meds for breakfast' camp or 'undiagnosed...but everyone's pretty sure' camp. This is a challenge that you'll complete, and enjoy the process.
And if you're a card-carrying member of the neurotypical society, then you'll love it too.
You do not have to complete everything perfectly.
You do not have to take beautiful notes.
You do not have to watch it in order while sitting calmly with herbal tea.
You can start with the module your family needs most right now, and use it in the way your real life allows.
Trusted by Parents. Respected by Professionals. Approved by Kids.

Real Talk
When everyone else overlooks you, talks down to you or doesn't take you seriously... we pride ourselves on being honest and REAL with our families.
- This will not turn you into the perfect family. It will not solve every problem overnight. It is the start of the journey...but - perhaps for the first time - you will be taking that journey on the right path.
- It does not diagnose your child, and it does not replace a developmental or psychiatric assessment. It is an educational and practical course for parents, not an assessment pathway.
- It is not a replacement for medical care. Some children need individualised, hands-on professional support, and this course is designed to sit alongside that care, not stand in for it.
-
And it is not for anyone hoping to 'make their child neurotypical'. The goal here is never to "fix" your child. It is to understand them, reduce unnecessary distress, strengthen connection and give your family better tools. If you are looking for a single magic script that works in every situation with every child, no honest programme can offer you that... and we will not pretend otherwise.
But we CAN help you create some truly EPIC outcomes for your family...
Imagine What Could Change When You Have the Right Map.
All you need is a little space to go from 'Nowhere' to 'Now here'.
EPIC Families Online gives you that space to breathe and a map to get you where you need to go.
Imagine noticing the early signs before the meltdown hits full force.
Imagine knowing what to say when your child is overwhelmed...and what to stop saying because it only adds fuel to the fire.
Imagine understanding why your child refuses, avoids, interrupts, panics, explodes, shuts down, negotiates, argues, clings, masks or spirals.
Imagine being able to explain your child’s needs to school with more clarity and less apology.
Imagine your partner finally hearing the expert explain what you've been trying to tell them for months.
Imagine siblings feeling more seen.
Imagine bedtime becoming less of a nightly battleground.
Imagine feeling less alone.
Imagine having a hard day and still knowing, “We have tools. We know what we are working on. We can figure this out.”
That is the transformation EPIC Families Online is designed to support.
Not instant perfection.
Not a magic wand.
A real, practical shift from chaos and confusion toward understanding, confidence and calmer patterns.

Invest In Your Child's Future
EPIC Families Online is $197 NZD*.
That's less than many families pay for a single private psychology appointment. And, unlike one appointment, you can return to it again and again, as your child grows and the challenges shift.
It helps to weigh this against what a hard month already costs your family: the strategies that didn't help, the books bought and abandoned, the urgent appointments, the missed work, the strain on siblings and on your relationship, and the quiet strain of everyone walking on eggshells.
Against all of that, $197 may be one of the most affordable ways to get genuinely expert, neurodiversity-affirming guidance into your home.
*Founders fee, the fee rises to $249 NZD in September 2026
In Your Corner. On Your Side.
Maybe you've still got some doubts, and that's totally fine. Nothing is more important to us than you doing what is right for your family.
Let's tackle any nagging thoughts head-on:
1. “Is this really worth $197?”
Here's another way to think about it.
How much does one bad week cost your family?
The waiting lists.
The 'zombie-at-work' feeling after yet another terrible night's sleep.
The constant chaos.
The school meetings.
The urgent appointments.
The books you bought and did not finish.
The courses that were too generic.
The emotional cost of everyone walking on eggshells.
The guilt after another night ended in shouting.
The worry that your child is losing confidence.
The doubts that you're overlooking the sibling.
The strain on your relationship.
The constant feeling that you should know what to do, but nobody has actually shown you.
EPIC Families Online is $197 ($249 NZD from September 2026).
That's cheaper than a single 60-minute consultation with any half-decent child therapist or psychologist.
That's cheaper than a 30-minute consultation with Dr Sarah Moll or Dr Lois Evans.
For that, you get expert guidance, practical tools, companion guides, workbooks, over 20 exercises, and exclusive access to the EPIC Talks vault.
It may be one of the most affordable ways to get high-quality neurodiversity guidance into your home right now.
2. "I don't have time"
That makes sense.
You're already juggling school emails, appointments, meals, work, routines, sibling needs, meltdowns, bedtime, your own emotions, and the invisible admin of parenting a neurodiverse child.
You do not need another thing that demands hours of perfect attention.
That is why EPIC Families Online is self-paced.
You can watch one section at a time.
You can skip straight to the module you need most.
You can come back when life settles.
You can use the companion guides when you do not have the brain space for video.
You can complete one workbook exercise instead of trying to “do the whole course”.
This course is not here to become another source of guilt.
It is here to become a support you can actually use.
3. "I have ADHD (or at least, I'm pretty sure I do). I'll never finish this"
You do not have to finish it perfectly for it to help.
EPIC Families Online has been designed with the reality that many parents of neurodiverse children are neurodivergent too.
You may struggle with focus.
You may start strong and lose momentum.
You may forget your login.
You may watch one module twice and skip another.
You may need to jump around based on the latest crisis.
That is OK. You're not at school any more.
We're not judging you.
There is no gold star for completing it in order.
Start with the pressure point that is costing your family the most right now.
If meltdowns are the biggest issue, start there.
If anxiety is driving everything, start there.
If sleep is wrecking the household, start there.
If school and focus are the current flashpoint, start there.
One useful insight can change the way you respond this week.
One practical tool can reduce one repeated fight.
One new explanation can help you stop blaming yourself.
One new perspective can change everything.
4. "We've Tried EVERYTHING, and NOTHING works."
When it comes to courses and resources, you may feel like you've been there, done that and got the t-shirt that says "I Can't Parent Any Harder".
And you may have very good reasons for being sceptical.
Plenty of parenting courses are too generic for neurodiverse families.
Many of them are built around behaviour charts and scripts that fall apart under real pressure.
Lots of them are taught by people who mean well but do not have deep medical and psychiatric expertise.
Most of them feel like they were written for a calm, organised, neurotypical household.
EPIC Families Online is different because it combines specialist medical knowledge, lived experience, plain-English teaching, and practical exercises designed for real families.
It does not assume your child is naughty.
It does not assume you are failing.
It does not assume one strategy will work for every child.
It helps you understand the patterns underneath the behaviour so you can respond with more confidence.
5. "That all sounds nice...but will this work for MY child?"
No ethical medical clinic could promise that one course will solve every challenge for every child.
Neurodivergent children are different. Families are different. Needs change. Brains grow. Some children will naturally require assessment, therapy, medication, school support, occupational therapy, psychology, speech-language therapy, paediatric care, or more intensive intervention.
EPIC Families Online does not replace personalised medical or mental health care.
But it can give you something many parents are missing right now:
- A clearer understanding of what may be happening.
- A more compassionate framework.
- Practical tools to try at home.
- A way to think about patterns rather than isolated incidents.
- Language to explain your child’s needs.
- Strategies for meltdowns, anxiety, focus, impulsivity, friendships and sleep.
- More clarity and certainty about what to do next.
- Hope and confidence that you're NOT getting it wrong, and you are an extraordinary parent with an incredible child.
For many families, that is the missing first step.
And for families already working with professionals, EPIC Families Online can help you become more informed, more confident and more prepared to apply strategies between appointments.
Still Not Sure?

The Final Word.
Let's face it: if you made it this far, that's an EPIC achievement in itself ;-)
We're going to sign off here: Not as paediatricians, psychiatrists, behavioural change specialists, owners of New Zealand's leading children's ADHD & Autism clinic, or as the New Zealand Neurodiversity Centre of Excellence.
This is us as neurodivergent parents of neurodiverse kids.
To be totally honest with you, none of this was planned. The clinic, the centre of excellence, the events... none of it was on the radar for any of us. We all had nice, safe, jobs and lives and careers where we had to show up every day and be 'the expert' and put on the mask of bravery.
But then we'd get home...and it would feel like our lives were falling apart. We were waiting years for assessments and answers (because we can't assess and diagnose our own kids, for obvious reasons), we had the meltdowns, the school refusal, the violence, jumping on a bed and not going to sleep at 11pm...all of it.
Everyone on our wider team has experienced this side of parenting. It ruined relationships, it caused mental health issues, insomnia, stress and worry. One parent on our team almost lost their previous job because their child refused to go to school so they had to stay home.
Seriously: You sometimes think you're a bad parent? Try dealing with the supermarket meltdowns, the school phone calls and your 10-year-old calling you a "stupid b*tch"...when assessing, diagnosing and supporting ADHD and autistic kids is literally your career.
We felt like the worst parents in the whole damn world.
And that's why we created this EPIC Families course. Why we started Bay Paediatrics and devoted our lives to being the New Zealand Neurodiversity Centre of Excellence. Why we host the EPIC Families events, the podcast, all of it...
We do it because we don't want any family to suffer. We don't want your children to struggle like our kids did.
That's what drives us forward. That's why we fight every day to raise the standard of ALL care and support for neurodiverse kids. Because we KNOW you deserve better. And every day we get out of bed and drink the coffee and get in the trenches to create a brighter future for all children.
EPIC Families Online took us 12 months to create. We raised the standard almost impossibly high: Crafting and perfecting the materials until we knew it was the only course that was good enough to use for our own families.
And only when it was good enough for our kids, did we know it was good enough to share with you.
And now, extraordinary parents and incredible children, it's time to become an EPIC family.
We are always in your corner.
With you.
For you.
Forever.
Sarah, Lois, Freddie & The Bay Paediatrics Team.
